When a user completes milestones, a frontend call triggers Lambda to generate a UUID-based certificate stored in DynamoDB. Because static pre-rendered HTML plus an edge CDN guarantees the fastest first paint globally, simple cache control and Brotli compression. This setup is low-ops, cheap at scale, and directly contributed to the sub-800ms TTI and the 100/100 Lighthouse result.

The mobile-friendly form posts to API Gateway over HTTPS. API Gateway invokes a Lambda which validates and sanitizes the payload server-side, writes a minimal record to MongoDB Atlas with masked IP and timestamp, and can optionally forward the lead to the officer via email. Errors are logged to CloudWatch and surfaced as friendly client messages. This keeps sensitive keys server-side, prevents spam via server validation, and gives the client a “set-and-forget” lead pipeline.

Merging two separate apps presented a messy surface area: duplicate global state, conflicting route names, and differing auth semantics.
